MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – UPAWS held its annual “Tee Up For Tails” golf tournament, its biggest fundraiser of the season, at Heritage and Greywalls golf courses on Thursday.
According to Karen Rhodes, a UPAWS fundraising volunteer, this year is their biggest year ever, with 36 teams, and many local business sponsors.
Rhodes said the tournament is a great way to support a good cause, while having a lot of fun.
“This year is, I think, the most successful, it’s amazing,” said Rhodes. “I had people calling and I had no more room to get more teams in. It’s really a wonderful way to raise funds, I mean people have fun, come and play in the tournament, get together with some friends, and have a good time.”
Rhodes said with this year’s tournament, they expect to make around $18,000.
