MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Hundreds of people from around the U.P., Michigan, and beyond enjoyed the 11th annual Festival of the Angry Bear at the Ore Dock Brewing Company in Marquette on Saturday.
The festival was started as a celebration for the incoming warm weather as well as spending time listening to music, eating good food, drinking some beer and creating memories.
Just before 3 p.m., eager festival-goers formed a long line down the block, ready to let their inner bear out. Last year, organizers say there were about 5,000 “Angry Bears” who attended. From merch and little stands to local food trucks and great bands, there was something for everyone.
Organizers from the Ore Dock say the intent of this event was a good time. The event coordinator shared just how important the community is to this festival.
“We’re just so thrilled every year people keep coming back. We can’t thank them enough. It takes a village to put a festival like this on, so we are just super fortunate to be here in this area and to work with such amazing people,” said Amanda Courchaine, curated events coordinator at the Ore Dock Brewing Co.
Staff at the Ore Dock say they are very grateful for all the work that has been put into this event, as well as the support from the community.
