Marquette Restaurant Week welcomes new business to the menu

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Restaurant week begins in Marquette, bringing a wide variety of cuisine to enjoy from Whitefish chowder to even octopus hot dogs.

More than a dozen restaurants have special deals offered for this busy week, but with only $100 to make through the entire week, can we do it? On Monday, WZMQ started Restaurant Week off inside a new business that’s been brought to the menu, and what’s better than Pizza?

Pizza@ began building its brand in 2014. They developed their sauce, and launched a location in Marquette all with their signature “design your own pizza”. “The whole vision behind Pizza@ was created with the idea of customization being able to do whatever you want with any of the food here,” commented General Manager Brandon Wicks.

Everything from the pizzas and stromboli to the salads can be unique to each customer. For Restaurant Week, Pizza @ is offering a personal 2-topping pizza, for $8.92.

“I know that there are combination pizzas or stuff that’s supposed to be on pizza but we like to break all those norms, if you love pineapple and cudighi on the same pizza we absolutely say go for it,” continued Wicks.

The chain of local parlors may only have 5 locations, but they say that gives them a stronger bond with the community they serve. Along the shop walls, you can see Third Street’s history displayed. “So it’s all places along Third Street too and in the front, we have the original Third Street sign as well or one of them,” continued Wicks.

Pizza@ is only the first stop, later on in the week we’re meeting with some more of Marquette fine dining, to see if you can make it through Restaurant Week with $100 or less.
