ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – November is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month. On November 1, two Delta County organizations kicked off the month together.
U.P. Health System (UPHS) Hospice and OSF Hospice hosted “Bells for Hospice” on the street corner of the Escanaba Seventh-day Adventist Church Pantry.
The Escanaba High School Choir began the event by singing “Hallelujah.” Then, hospice workers, volunteers, and community members rang bells in recognition of those who are in hospice care, those who have been in hospice care, and those who need end-of-life services.
“Hospice, in general, is something that everyone needs, and it’s something to be celebrated, to go on the next journey of your life,” said UPHS Hospice account executive Rachel Camp. “You are not alone, and we are always here as a group to get through it all together.”
