MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A training group that supports local law enforcement is giving recognition to its four-legged coworkers. It’s the 2nd annual fundraiser, UPK9 Nitro’s “Yappy Hour”. Last year support brought in enough donation dollars for the UPK9 to house a new Explosives Detection K9 for the Marquette Police Department.
There will be live music, a silent auction, and the Marquette community will get to meet the new K9, Odin. “K9 Nitro was the only explosive detection dog in the Upper Peninsula and I hope that by having our second annual happy hour more people from the community that weren’t there last year haven’t been there before will come out to support a local business that supports their law enforcement in the community and just pay some of that back for them,” commented UPK9 Training Group President John Waldo.
The fundraiser is taking place at the Rippling River Resort Campground next Wednesday, August 16th. Click here to learn more about K9 Nitro, and the support for K9 Nitro’s “Yappy Hour”.
