ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Ishpeming Salvation Army is going to see some upgrades thanks to a new community impact program. Lowes hometown is a 5 year, $100 million program meant to revitalize and rebuild community spaces nationwide.
The Salvation Army Ishpeming Community Center is one of 100 community projects to be awarded funds for renovations. The Centers gym, dining facilities, food pantry, recreation areas and kitchen will all be a part of the upgrade to benefit its youth program. Local partners with Lowes say It’s a great thing being a small community like Ishpeming and getting this grant, they say they’re excited and ready to jump in and help out with this project.
Salvation Army staff says the project renovations are set to begin soon and should wrap up by the end of the year.
