Iron Mountain Entertainment Complex Announces American Rapper Afroman to Perform in July

Iron Mountain, Mich. (WZMQ) – Dave Fraser, the owner of Maxx Entertainment, was excited for the weekly events at the indoor race track. “So tonight we are just having a fun run,” he remarked.

“During the summer, birthday parties are a really big thing. The kids come in, race the RC cars we have rentals and when you have a birthday party they’re included. You can just go and either race your buddies or just go out and play and bash,” Fraser remarked. They let people do what they want if they want to actually have some races. “We’ll help them and run some races, or if you just wanna have a fun time,” he added. Fraser’s goal is to provide a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone who comes out to Maxx Entertainment.

That’s why he’s announcing his biggest bash of the summer. An American rapper who originates from Mississippi and has sold over a million copies worldwide of his best-selling album, will be coming to jam at the Maxx in Iron Mountain next month.

“Our biggest event is July 5th, and that’s Afroman, so he’s coming and the tickets are already selling really fast. The stage that’s behind us is actually mobile, and we’re gonna be able to pump up the suspension and bring it right outside,” Fraser announced excitedly.

“Outdoors our capacity is around 2500,” he added, “so we still have plenty of tickets to sell. And if you wanna get ahold of us its always best to visit the Maxx entertainment complex on Facebook. That’s where we have all of our events posted that can remind you as you go along.”

“Usually once every week or two everybody gets together – all the guys who race with us on our winter program. And they all just come and hang out and have some fun,” he went on. During the winter, they have full race series and great programs indoors on their professional CRC racing carpet.

“But all summer we run outdoor at the track on M-95 just north of Iron Mountain. Racing is every Sunday, and the green flag drops at noon central time.” Fraser informed. He added that the outdoor track is the big thing during the summer. However, they had other activities for people to enjoy. “So one of the big things we like to do is always encourage the kids. So we have family racing programs where most tracks have your initial entry fee, and then every class you race costs a little more,” Fraser explained.

“What we do is when you have a father/son mother/son/ daughter or whatever, we give them discounted fees for their kids. So for kids to race it’s only five dollars. It’s only ten dollars normally for the adults to race as well.” Fraser was proud to offer this program because it encouraged families to come together and enjoy the racing experience.

Fraser was also excited to talk about the different programs they offered. “For the outdoor RC racing, we have a class called sportsman,” he said. This class is for adults who were just beginning or kids who wanted to get their feet wet. “It’s not held down to any certain age group, we have guys that literally just started who are 65 and they’re just learning,” Fraser explained. They raced sportsman and then they raced the class that they were supposed to be in so that they could get more practice.

“Every Tuesday night we have open mic here,” Fraser continued. “And you’re welcome to come, bring your instrument or as you can see we have a bunch of them behind us. We have a full drum set, and bass, acoustic, electric guitars, all kinds of stuff.” Fraser was proud to offer this program because it allowed people to come together and enjoy music.

“Usually people start arriving between 4-5 central time, and even on the weeknight we stay until everybody’s done,” Fraser noted. Sometimes mic nights go on as late as 8 o’clock or 10 o’clock. As long as there are people there, Fraser stays to hang out. “I run the soundboard and then usually there’s plenty of guitar and bass guys but nobody wants to drum,” Fraser explained. So most of the nights, he’ll be up there and play some basic drum lines for the guys to make it sound good. “We have shows coming all the time,” Fraser said with a smile.
