MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ)- Restaurant week continues in downtown Marquette, Vango’s Pizza and Cocktail Lounge is a Marquette classic, they’ve been serving up Greek food on third street for almost 60 years.
For restaurant week, Vango’s has some discounted prices for its fan favorite gyros and pizzas.
Robert Caron, one of the partners at Vango’s, said he wants to give people a good deal this week so they have an excuse to go out to eat and enjoy the food.
“We’re really trying to showcase some of our Greek heritage, where the restaurant really began like nearly 60 years ago.” Caron said, “So we’re showcasing those gyros and maybe getting people to try one they haven’t.”
This week, a Vango’s gyro with a small greek salad is $12.75, and their family dinner special includes a basket of waffle fries, a large greek salad, a large two topping pizza, and a pitcher of soda for $29.95.
Caron said he hopes this week gives Marquette locals a chance to try something new.
“It’s a great way to get people to come out and maybe try some restaurants they haven’t been to, or some dishes they haven’t tried.” Caron said.
Vango’s discounts will run through the rest of restaurant week which wraps up on Saturday night.
