With the snow from yesterday’s snow storm still being cleaned up, bus drivers have some safety reminders for other drivers. When the roads are extra slick after winter storms, Marquette Area Public Schools transportation staff wants to remind divers to give busses some extra stopping space. Always stop when the busses extend their stop signs, students could be exiting or entering the bus from either side. Kim Moon-Armbrecht, the transportation trainer with MAPS said “when you see the flashing yellows, please start slowing down and be notified that were about to make a stop and were going to be letting children either exit or get on the bus.”
If you commute during those morning or afternoon bus route times, make sure you remember to stay behind the busses and not pass them, and give them some extra room on the roads…
