MARQUETTE, Mich (WZMQ) – The BISSELL Pet Foundation is a national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending pet homelessness, is bringing hope to the nation’s shelterpets this holiday season with its “Empty the Shelter – Holiday Hope” adoption event.
The event runs from December 1st through the 11th. Joining over 275 shelters in this event, the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter or UPAWS also participating and the Director says this is always a popular event helping these animals find forever homes.
“The one thing that I’m really proud of as well is that we we’re able to so far save a little over 200 animals that were coming from high kill rate cities throughout the country this year they came here from different transports and we were able to find them new homes”, says Bill Brutto.
The shelters involved in the event are offering fee-waved adoptions for cats and dogs 6 months and up, as well as fee-waived on all ages of small critters. All interested adopters can find more details on their website, click here.
