MARQUETTE, Mich (WZMQ) – Following the past few days of shopping, Giving Tuesday spans across the nation and continues to spread generosity. In the Upper Peninsula, this event presents a lot of opportunities for both local and state-wide organizations to lend a hand. “I think that the word has just kind of gotten out about giving Tuesday”, said Outreach Coordinator Taylor Brutto.
Officials from Grow and Lead said that over 50 programs have registered for the event. This includes the Marquette Alternative High School continuing its “Rock the Socks” event with Wattson and Wattson Jewelers, and many more organizations and non-profits to help.
Organizations that are taking part in this year’s “Rock the Socks” event are as follows:
- Sandy Knoll Elementary
- MAPS Central Office
- Bothwell Middle School
- NMU Hockey 12/2 vs. MTU
