MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Marquette man is facing charges related to a motorcycle that was stolen earlier this month.
The Marquette City Police Department said on Wednesday, Oct. 26, officers were called to the 2000 block of Longyear Ave. in Marquette for a suspicious person in the area. Officers made contact there with 32-year-old Gerry Harold Fisk III.
Officers learned Fisk had outstanding warrants for Resisting and Obstructing as well as Possession of Methamphetamine. Fisk took off on foot but was quickly caught by police and arrested on the outstanding warrants.
As officers were investigating further, a van in a nearby parking lot was identified as being driven by Fisk. Officers saw a recently painted motorcycle in the back of the van. Officers were aware that a motorcycle had been stolen on Oct. 11 and that Fisk was listed as a possible suspect.
A search warrant was obtained and executed. The motorcycle in the van was confirmed as the stolen motorcycle.
Fisk was also charged with Motor Vehicle- Unlawful Driving Away as well as Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property.
Fisk is currently lodged at the Marquette County Jail.
