ONTARIO, Can. (WZMQ) – The body of a Lower Michigan woman missing since June and was found on shore in Canada has now been identified, according to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 26, 2022, the sheriff’s office took a complaint of a missing person, Olivia Ernst from Wixom in Oakland County. Ernst’s unoccupied vehicle and abandoned personal property were found near the shore of Lake Superior off of Buckroe Rd. in northern Marquette County.
On July 30, 2022, a body was found on the shore of Lake Superior near the Montreal River in Ontario, Canada. The body was later identified as Ernst. No foul play is suspected.
The recovery and identification of Ernst was handled by the Ontario Provincial Police.
