Another fairly tranquil day for the UP this Tuesday. Not much sun, but not much of anything else. That changes tomorrow, the last day of winter (at least on the calendar!). Mother Nature will give the UP a dramatic sendoff Wednesday afternoon into the first day of spring Thursday. Snow begins near midday, and will become heavy at times through Wednesday night. Some sleet and freezing rain possible. Snow amounts of 3-6″ Marquette area by dinner time Wednesday, and storm totals of up to 12″ by daybreak Thursday, with higher amounts possible to the west. Amounts farther east are more tricky, as there will be a rain/snow mix Wednesday afternoon, though looking more like snow Wednesday night. Gusty winds to 35 mph will cause further disruptions to travel.

STORM TOTAL EXPECTED SNOWFALL FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH DAYBREAK THURSDAY
