Take special care on the roadways today with the bands of lake effect snow and the gusty winds to 45-50 mph. The winds are causing a lot of blowing snow, occasionally causing whiteout conditions. Also, wind chills in the single digits this morning, so you’ll need to bundle up against these very cold temperatures. Lake effect bands will taper off through the afternoon. The winds will also die down, though they will stay gusty through Friday.
