Temperatures rising into the lower 90s with heat index values climbing to the lower 100s can be expected for Marquette and much of the western U.P. this afternoon in addition to Tuesday afternoon. Precipitation is not expected as we head into the overnight hours, but a few showers and storms may be around by the time you wake up tomorrow morning. Expect some midday clearing across much of the U.P., but once again some pop up showers and storms may form for the afternoon hours. While showers and thunderstorms tomorrow are not expected to be severe, some may contain frequent lightning, heavy downpours and gusty winds. The heat and humidity begins to wear off tomorrow night with high temperatures only reaching the lower 70s. Mostly clear sky conditions and slightly above average temperatures will be the main story heading into the end of the workweek.
