MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) — WZMQ 19 in Marquette has been named the official television station of the Meijer State Games of Michigan in 2024.
Top athletes will compete in multi-sport, Olympic-style contests. The Games embody the values of participation, sportsmanship, and healthy living among the residents of Michigan.
Opening ceremonies for the winter games will be held Friday, Feb. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at Marquette Mountain Resort. WZMQ 19 News will provide live coverage prior to opening ceremonies at 6 p.m./5 Central. 19 News Sarah Blakely will anchor the live broadcast on location.
WZMQ 19 will serve as the official television station for the Meijer State Games of Michigan held in several U.P. venues in the Marquette area Feb. 9-11. Marquette Mountain will host the Ski/Snowboard competition. Bowling will be held at River Rock Lanes and Banquet Center. For specific events information, click on www.stategamesofmichigan.com.
