NMU Women’s Swimming and Diving 16th at NCAA Championships

Ceglinski, Carbone, Wright earn First Team All-American honors

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The NMU women’s swim and dive team concluded the season with a 16th place finish at the 2025 NCAA Championships.

The ‘Cats had a successful week of competition, finishing as the 16th best team in the nation and boasting a handful of All-Americans and top times. The Championships started on Tuesday, March 11, with diving qualification before moving to four days of competition.

The ‘Cats opened the week with Kalina Ceglinski advancing into the championships after making the cut on Tuesday, becoming one of 22 divers to advance. Ceglinski would go on to earn First Team All-America honors in the 3-meter diving and Second Team All-America honors in the 1-meter diving after finishing 8th and 12th, respectively.

Day two saw the ‘Cats earn a trio of All-America honors, those being Anika Wright in the 1000 freestyle, the 200 medley relay team of Camilla Carbone, Zoe DeKievit, Mia Strazny, and Becca Burrows, and Ceglinski all earning second team honors. Wright finished 13th in the 1000, and the relay team finished 15th.

Day three saw the 400 medley relay team of Carbone, DeKievit, Elena Curti, and Burrows earn another All-America award for a medley relay team, finishing 13th overall for a second-team honor.

Day four saw both Carbone and Ceglinski earn First Team All-America honors in the 100 backstroke and 3-meter diving, both finishing 8th in their respective events. Wright finished 12th in the 500 freestyle and Strazny 11th in the 100 backstroke to both earn Second Team All-America honors.

The week ended with NMU earning a pair of more All-Americans, those being Wright and Strazny. Wright earned a first-team honor with her 8th place finish in the 1650 freestyle, and Strazny a second-team honor in the 200 backstroke.

First Team

  • Ceglinski – 3-meter diving
  • Carbone – 100 backstroke
  • Wright – 1650 freestyle

Second Team

  • Ceglinski – 1-meter diving
  • Wright – 500 freestyle
  • Wright – 1000 freestyle
  • Strazny – 100 backstroke
  • Strazny – 200 backstroke
  • 200 medley relay (Carbone, DeKievit, Strazny, Burrows)
  • 400 medley relay (Carbone, DeKievit, Curti, Burrows)
