MTU’s Campbell finishes third
HOUGHTON, Mich. – The NMU men’s nordic ski team concluded competiion from the 2025 CCSA Conference Championships with the 7.5k classic, claiming the top two spots on the day.
After finishing just off the podium yesterday, Adrik Kraftson claimed gold today, finishing 17 seconds faster than second place and 32 seconds ahead of third with his time of 22:04.0.
Similar to yesterday, the next Wildcat was Luke Fricker; but this time he was standing next to Kraftson on the podium, claiming silver with his time of 22:21.0.
Wes Campbell of Michigan Tech rounded out the podium in third with his time of 22:36.0.
Jonathan Clarke finished eighth among conference skiers with his time of 23:17.6, Kristoffer Karsrud ninth among CCSA athletes with his time of 23:97.7, and Hendrik Peterson in 13th with his time of 23:51.7. Mathias Haugen rounded out the Wildcat skiers with a time of 27:07.7.

The ‘Cats now have its sights set on next weekend, when NMU hosts the NCAA Central Regional Skiing Championships. Taking place just about 30 minutes west of Marquette, the race will be held at the Al Quaal Recreation Area in Ishpeming, Michigan on Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23. Next weekend features the same races as this weekend, with the 7.5k on Saturday and mass start 20k on Sunday.
