Three players from the UP
HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech football head coach Dan Mettlach has announced the addition of 27 student-athletes on National Signing Day. The squad of future Huskies will join the MTU football program at Fall Camp in August of 2025.
“The staff did an incredible job recruiting the 2025 class,” said Tech football head coach Dan Mettlach. “This is a talented group that we are excited to get on campus in the fall. They exemplify the characteristics of what it is to be a student-athlete at Michigan Tech and will represent our program well.”
The class comes from six different states including Arizona, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Keaton Abraham | Defensive line | 6-2 | 235 | Gaylord, Michigan | Gaylord HS
High School: Abraham finished his senior season at Gaylord High School with 57 total tackles and 10 sacks while recording a school record power clean (305lbs), squat 405 lbs and bench 275×2. He was an Academic All-State honoree and was a member of the National Honors Society honor roll.
Personal: Keaton is the son of Shawn and Sarah Abraham. He plans to earn a degree in construction management while at Michigan Tech.
Brady Beck | Defensive back | 6-0 | 195 | Clarkston, Michigan | Clarkston HS
High School: Beck enjoyed a career of 242 total tackles, two interceptions and one defensive touchdown during his time at Clarkston High School. He was a team MVP, a two time All-Conference selection, one time All-Region honoree and All-Detroit North Honorable Mention. In the classroom, he was named to the All-Conference Academic team three times.
Personal: Brady is the son of Angela and Jay Beck. He plans to earn a degree in nursing while at Michigan Tech.
Dash Blake | Wide receiver | 5-10 | 180 | Chandler, Arizona | Basha HS
High School: Blake was an All-Region first teamer and an All-Chandler unified school district first team selection to go with an All-State Honorable mention nomination. He recorded 43 receptions for 616 yards and eight touchdowns with 1048 all purpose yards including a punt return average of 12.4 yards for Basha High School.
Personal: Dash is the son of James Blake and Kathryn Munoz. He plans to earn a degree in business while at Michigan Tech.
Bryce Borgus | Athlete | 6-1 | 170 | Redford, Michigan | Divine Child HS
High School: Borgus was an All-Region, All-Catholic, All-Area, All-City and All-State track honoree and received 290 passing yards and four receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown with 40 yards on the ground in three attempts. Academically he earned the PSAT African American Recognition Award.
Personal: Bryce is the son of Christina Borgus-Hall and Anthony Hall. He plans to earn a degree in general engineering while at Michigan Tech.
Mitchell Brewer | Offensive line | 6-4 | 290 | Royal Oak, Michigan | Bishop Foley HS
High School: Brewer was an All-Catholic recipient in wrestling and football and qualified for the wrestling state tournament in his junior season. He is a four time honor roll student and was the top student in world literature as a freshman at Bishop Foley.
Personal: Mitchell is the son of Laura and Brian Brewer. He plans to major in chemistry while at Michigan Tech.
Connor Byram | Punter | 6-4 | 235 | Gaylord, Michigan | Gaylord HS
High School: Byram is a three-time All-Conference selection, one time All-Region honoree on the football field while also being All-Conference in track & field three times. He was a four time Academic All-Conference honoree.
Personal: Connor is the son of Kimberly and Sean Byram. He plans to earn a degree in civil engineering while at Michigan Tech.
Cameron Cornett | Running back | 5-10 | 200 | Onalaska, Wisconsin | Onalaska HS
High School: Cornett finished his senior season with Onalaska High School rushing for 1,619 yards and 22 rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown. He was a First-Team All-Conference running back and also earned All-Region honors.
Personal: Cameron is the son of Clayton Fitzpatrick and Deja Mosley. He plans to earn a degree in business while at Michigan Tech.
Edem Denoo | Defensive line | 6-0 | 250 | Grand Rapids, Michigan | Forest Hills Eastern High HS
High School: Denoo is an MHSFCA Division II All-Region and All-State selection for Forest Hills Eastern High School.
Personal: Edem is the son of Bright and Yvonne Denoo. He plans to earn a degree in construction management while at Michigan Tech.
Andrew Devola | Defensive line | 6-1 | 265 | Murrysville, Pennsylvania | Franklin Regional HS
High School: Devola recorded 213 total tackles, 24 sacks and 47 tackles for loss at Franklin Regional High School. He was a four-time All-Conference selection, a three-time All-County honoree, four year letter winner and a two time Team Captain and Team MVP. He is a member of the National Honors Society and finished first place at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Physics Olympics in 2025.
Personal: Andrew is the son of Eryn and Steve Devola. He plans to earn a degree in mechanical engineering while at Michigan Tech.
Kevin Giuliani | Offensive line | 6-5 | 270 | Crystal Falls, Michigan | Crystal Falls Forest Park HS
High School: Giuliani is a two-time UPSSA All-UP Mitchell Snyder Lineman of the Year recipient, All-State First-Team Offensive line selection, First Team offensive and defensive line selection and a 1,000 point scorer on the basketball team at Crystal Falls Forest Park High School.
Personal: Kevin is the son of Jackie and Gene Guilliani. He plans to earn a degree in construction management while at Michigan Tech.
Lane Gorzinski | Outside linebacker/Athlete | 6-0 | 190 | Powers, Michigan | Powers North Central HS
High School: Gorzinski was a state champion as a freshman and sophomore at Powers North Central High School and finished his senior year with 49 total touchdowns, 2.925 total yards of offense with 79 total tackles, 53 solo, seven sacks and three interceptions. He was an eight-man First Team All-Conference honoree, eight-man dream team All-U.P. selection, eight-man First Team All-State Selection, Offensive Player of the Year and All-U.P. Mr. Football. Academically, he was an honor roll student all four years and a member of the National Honors Society.
Personal: Lane is the son of Michelle and Leo Gorzinski. He plans to earn a degree in exercise science while at Michigan Tech.
Chris Gottschalk | Offensive line | 6-4 | 265 | Utica, Michigan | Lutheran HS North
High School: Gottschalk is a two-time First Team All-Region honreee, First Team All-Macomb County. Second Team All-East and Second Team All-State honoree playing offensive line for Lutheran High School North.
Personal: Chris is the son of Sarah and Jason Gottschalk. He plans to earn a degree in construction management while at Michigan Tech.
Cair’ron Hendred | Running back | 5-9 | 195 | Cedar Rapids, Iowa | Winona State University
Before Michigan Tech: Hendred comes to Michigan Tech as a graduate transfer from NSIC affiliate Winona State University where he appeared in 19 games between the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He rushed for over 1,084 yards with a long of 77 yards, racking up 12 total touchdowns. He competed in football and baseball for Kennedy High School and was an All-State running back his senior year and had over 3,000 career rushing yards.
Personal: Cair’ron is the son of George Hendred and Corline Luter-French. He plans to earn an MBA while at Michigan tech.
Bryar Inman | Offensive line | 6-4 | 265 | Westland, Michigan | John Glenn HS
High School: Inman is a two-time KLAA All-Conference selection and a two time MHSFCA First Team honoree. He was a captain for John Glenn High School and was an honor roll KLAA scholar athlete.
Personal: Bryar is the son of Shannon and Jeff Inman. He plans to earn a degree in mathematics while at Michigan Tech.
Case Johnson | Fullback | 5-11 | 225 | Greenville, Michigan | Greenville HS
High School: Johnson is a two-time All-Region, three-time All-Conference and three-time All-Area honoree. He recorded 137 total tackles in his final two seasons at Greenville High School. He holds a 4.0 GPA and was named to the Academic All-State team.
Personal: Case is the son of Becky Ricahards. He plans to earn a degree in business while at Michigan Tech.
Hunter King | Defensive back | 6-2 | 170 | Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin | Fond Du Lac HS
High School: King is a two-time 2nd team FVA All-Conference selection and recorded 79 solo tackles, 15 passes defended and five interceptions for Fond Du Lac High School.
Personal: Hunter is the son of Nathan and Heidi King. He plans to earn a degree in data science while at Michigan Tech.
Elliot Larner | Quarterback | 5-11 | 178 | Lansing, Michigan | Dewitt HS
High School: Larner was a Mr. Football finalist, with All-conference and All-region accolades. He finished his senior year at Dewitt High School with 4,156 total yards, 61 touchdowns, 36 rushing touchdowns totaling 1,912 rushing yards in 172 carries.
Personal: Elliot is the son of Amanda and Jay Larner. He plans to earn a degree in general engineering while at Michigan Tech.
Drew Lurvey | Defensive back | 5-10 | 198 | Linden, Michigan | Linden HS
High School: Lurvey is a first team all-Region honoree, First Team All-Leaguer and three-time 2nd All-League honoree for Linden High School. Academically he was on the honor roll all four years.
Personal: Drew is the son of David and Heather Lurvey. He plans to earn a degree in construction management while at Michigan Tech.
Max Maj | Offensive line | 6-3 | 280 | Lake Zurich, Illinois | Lake Zurich HS
High School: Maj finished his high school campaign for Lake Zurich High School as a two-time State Semi-Finalist and was a first team All-Conference honoree on the offensive line.
Personal: Max is the son of Tomasz Maj and Kinga Maj. He plans to earn a degree in construction management while at Michigan Tech.
Ruebyn Mensah | Defensive line | 6-0 | 230 | South Range, Michigan | Houghton HS
High School: Mensah is a two-time All-Conference defensive lineman in 2023 and 2024 for Houghton High School.
Personal: Ruebyn is the son of Sherrie Vorbeck. He plans to earn a degree in mechanical engineering while at Michigan Tech.
Greg Myles II | Offensive line | 6-3 | 285 | Okemos, Michigan | Haslett HS
High School: Myles was a two-time district champion with the Haslett High School football team and earned All-State honorable mention accolades, Detroit Free Press All-State selection to go with three-time All-League selection and two-time All-Region accolades.
Personal: Greg is the son of Barb and Greg Myles. He plans to earn a degree in business while at Michigan Tech.
Mahdi Sabbagh | Linebacker | 5-11 | 209 | Dearborn, Michigan | Dearborn HS
High School: Sabbagh is a Van Patrick Award Nominee and a principal’s list honor roll nominee at Dearborn High School. Athletically he had 210 career tackles, 21 career sacks and over 40 tackles for loss. He was a Defensive Player of the Year Award honoree and was a KLAA conference champion at 190 lbs in wrestling. He was a three-time All-Conference selection, two-time All-Area selection, and a three-time All-Region selection.
Personal: Mahdi is the son of Fatima Joumaa and Bilal Sabbagh. He plans to earn a degree in pre-health while at Michigan Tech
John Schloss | Tight end | 6-3 | 245 | West Allis, Wisconsin | Nathan Hale HS
High School: Schloss is the Nathan Hale Man of the Year award winner and was named Second Team All-Conference tight end. He finished his career at Nathan Hale High School with 26 receptions for 344 yards and a touchdown. Academically he was on the honor roll at Nathan Hale.
Personal: John is the son of Patrick and Kelly Schloss. He plans to earn a degree in mechanical engineering while at Michigan Tech.
Drew Sikora | Tight end | 6-4 | 225 | Gibraltar, Michigan | Gibraltar Carlson HS
High School: Sikora is a Carlson High School coaches Award recipient, a four-time league champion, two-time district champion to go with a two-time All-Region and two time All-League honoree. He recorded 26 receptions for 446 yards and six touchdowns for Gibraltar Carlson High School. In the classroom, he was an Academic All-State honors student for three years.
Personal: Drew is the son of Kent and Melissa Sikora. He plans to earn a degree in business while at Michigan Tech.
Journey Solomon | Defensive back | 5-10 | 175 | Scottsdale, Arizona | Desert Mountain HS
High School: Solomon played in eight games for Desert Mountain High School and recorded six total tackles and an interception on defense. He received 23 receptions for 401 yards and four touchdowns with a long of 96 yards as a wide receiver.
Personal: Journey is the son of Jaime and Jarrett Solomon. He plans to earn a degree in business while at Michigan Tech.
Jiovanni Travis | Defensive line | 6-3 | 206 | Lapeer, Michigan | North Brand HS
High School: Travis is an All-Conference honorable mention running back and an All-Conference 2nd team defensive end and recorded 35 total tackles, five tackles for loss and three sacks for North Branch High School.
Personal: Jiovanni is the son of Angel Travis. He plans to earn a degree in accounting while at Michigan Tech.
Henry Wood | Tight end | 6-1 | 226 | Howard City, Michigan | Newaygo HS
High School: Wood was a team captain for Newaygo and a defensive Co-MVP. He was a two-time All-Conference selection at tight end/outside linebacker and an All-Region tight end honoree. In his senior season he finished with six all purpose touchdowns with 150 receiving yards, 56 total tackles, two forced fumbles, an interception, four sacks and four pass deflections for Newaygo High School. He was a member of the National Honors Society and an Academic All-State honoree.
Personal: Henry is the son of Jason and Susie Wood. He plans to earn a degree in mechanical engineering while at Michigan Tech.
Mason Wolter | Offensive line | 6-1 | 285 | Oconomowoc, Wisconsin | Oconomowoc HS
High School: Wolter is a three sport letter winner at Oconomowoc High School (football, baseball, track and field) and was an All-Conference and All-Region honoree in 2024 and an All-Conference honorable mention in 2023. He holds a 305 bench, 485 squat and 4.96 40 yard dash personal-bests.Personal: Mason is the son of Margaret and Michael Wolter. He plans to earn a degree in mechanical engineering while at Michigan Tech.
