HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech’s Stiven Sardarian and Logan Morrell were named CCHA Players of the Week.
Stiven Sardarian was named CCHA Forward of the Week after he tallied a league-best six points in the series at Bemidji State. He had one assist Friday in a 2-2 tie and then put up five points Saturday with a goal and four assists in the 9-5 victory. Sardarian leads the CCHA with 19 points this season on eight goals and 11 assists.
Logan Morrell was named the CCHA Rookie of the Week after he tallied five points in the series against the Beavers. He scored a pair of goals each night while also adding an assist for a three-point game on Saturday. Morrell is riding a three-game point streak and is second on the team with seven goals which ranks eighth amongst NCAA rookies.
Tech is 9-5-2 overall and 7-3-2 in the CCHA and is off until the 58th annual Great Lakes Invitational on Dec. 29-30 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Huskies will open against No. 6 Western Michigan. No. 1 Michigan State and Northern Michigan faceoff in the second semifinal.
