Two goals in win over Panthers
MARQUETTE, Mich. – Tommaso Lami has been selected as the GLIAC men’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the second time of his career after scoring two goals over the weekend.
In his last regular-season home game of his collegiate career, graduating student-athlete and team captain Tommaso Lami scored a brace to lift the Wildcats to a triumphant 2-0 win over Davenport Sunday in front of friends, families, and local youth soccer players.
This marks Lami’s first multi-goal game of the season and the third of his career. Between the two games played this weekend, Lami recorded two goals, a game-winning goal, five shots on target from six shot attempts (.833 SOG%), and 168 minutes played.
“Our staff is extremely happy for Tommaso and the team after a wonderful performance yesterday,” head coach Alex Fatovic added. “Everyone at NMU and the GLIAC knows Tommaso has great qualities, but to score 2 goals of that level on his senior day, you can’t ask for much better. Bravo Tommy! Now do it again!”
