Eighth at Roy Griak Invite
HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech men’s cross country senior Sam Lange collected the GLIAC’s Athlete of the Week honors following his performance at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota on Friday. The award is the first of the season for Lange and the second for the Huskies this season.
He placed eighth overall in a field of over 350 runners at the Roy Griak Invitational to help the No. 26 nationally-ranked men of Michigan Tech take runner-up honors in the Jo Rider men’s Maroon race, scoring 91 points.
The Washington, Illinois, native moved up 14 spots in the final 3,000m to become the Huskies low-stick, clocking a time of 26:16.6.
Lange and the rest of the Tech cross country squads return to the grass on Oct. 12, traveling to Romeoville, Illinois, for the Lewis Crossover hosted by Lewis University.
