ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Bay College and Lake Superior State University (LSSU) Regional Center chapter of Business Professionals of America (BPA) club raised $800 for Local Area 1 Special Olympics.
In early March, BPA students held their annual Chain of Love fundraiser. To participate, donors wrote the name of a loved one on a link and added it to a paper chain, creating a long chain of love.
The proceeds from this fundraiser help to cover costs associated with the Local Area 1 Special Olympics program, such as purchasing uniforms, equipment, and travel for all athletes. BPA students presented a check to the athletes at the U.P. Regional Basketball Tournament on March 7.
“Getting to see that final chain presented on the 7th truly shows how much love we have throughout our community,” said Chain of Love Event Champion Haylee Gatien. “Thank you to everyone who donated, and to those who helped support our local Special Olympics; this could not be done without you!”
