MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Upper Peninsula Secretary of State Mobile Office made a stop at the Marquette County Courthouse Wednesday morning.
The Department of State services seven of these mobile units across Michigan, with one covering the entire Upper Peninsula. Each day, the unit is able to provide Real ID’s, title transfers, and any other SOS service to rural communities, where these resources can be difficult to access.
At least once a month, the office will also make stops to homeless shelters and county clerk offices, to save time and travel for those in need of renewals.
“We offer the same services that the regular branch does, so we can complete all transactions,” said U.P. Mobile Office Manager, Kori Keller. “We’re on the road every day, going to senior centers, schools, and shelters in rural townships where there isn’t a secretary of state branch.”
Publicly, there is no official schedule for the mobile office, but requests or questions can be directed to (888) 767-6424.
