CRYSTAL FALLS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – An Iron River woman has died after being struck by a vehicle on Friday.
At approximately 10:18 a.m., the Iron County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident on Highway US-2 near Idlewild Road in Crystal Falls Township. The pedestrian, a 60-year-old female from Iron River, succumbed to injuries she suffered in the accident.
The 43-year-old Crystal Falls woman driving the vehicle was uninjured. The accident remains under investigation, and names are being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
The Iron County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Aspirus EMS, the Crystal Falls Fire Department, Iron County Central Dispatch, the Michigan State Police, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, and the Crystal Falls Township Department of Public Works.
