ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Submissions are now open for the Bonifas Arts Center’s annual Northern Exposure exhibit.
Northern Exposure XXXII is open to all artists living above the 45th parallel, which includes Northern Michigan, Northern Wisconsin, and a portion of Minnesota. It is a juried show, and artists can submit up to three pieces.
“Our juror this year is Pamela Anderson, who resides down in Milwaukee,” said Bonifas Gallery Director Kate Oman. “She’s an abstract painter, but she’s open to all mediums.”
Oman says Northern Exposure often features an interesting mix of both traditional and experimental artwork.
“It’s a lot of fun,” she said. “It’s really neat because you get to see the best of the best in the U.P. on display.”
Submissions are $25 for Bonifas members and $30 for non-members. Select pieces will earn placement awards, purchase prizes, media awards, and featured artist awards, which will give creators the opportunity to show their work in a small solo or joint show.
Northern Exposure XXXII submissions are due by October 4, and the show will run from November 7 through December 31. The opening reception will be held on November 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. To download the application or to learn more about submitting artwork, click here.
Northern Exposure XXXII is sponsored by Escanaba Veterinary Clinic, Tackman Capital Management, the East Ludington Gallery, and the Escanaba branch of Thrivent Financial.
