MARQUETTE COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – UPDATE: The Michigan State Police (MSP) has identified four juvenile individuals who made alleged threats to shoot the Culver’s restaurant in Marquette. At this time the MSP believes the threats were prank calls and the callers had no intention of doing any physical harm.
“The MSP takes all reported threats seriously and thoroughly investigates each incident to ensure public safety,” said Lt. Ben Eckola, MSP Eighth District Public Information Officer. “This type of behavior is not a joke and making false threats is never acceptable.”
“The safety of our guests and team members is our number one priority,” Culver’s Owner George Niemi told WZMQ 19. “We’re thankful to the police for their support in resolving this situation and equally grateful that it turned out to be a prank. We also want to thank our guests for their patience during this situation and eagerly look forward to serving our guests.”
The investigation remains ongoing and will be forwarded to the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office for their review.
