SANDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Sands Township man was killed in a side-by-side crash on Wednesday.
At 6:09 p.m., Marquette County Sheriff’s Office personnel responded to a serious injury crash involving a side-by-side that struck a tree on Youngs Road. The 57-year-old driver, identified as Paul Ray Bagby, was the only person inside the vehicle.
Responders attempted life-saving measures, but Bagby was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol, speed, and not wearing a seatbelt are believed to be factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Sands Township EMS/Fire, Rescue 131, and UPHS EMS.
