Negaunee opens applications for popular grant program

Grant money for Negaunee businesses

NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The City of Negaunee has announced the city’s community contributions grant program for 2025. The Negaunee City Treasurer will be accepting applications for this grant program until May 25th. The grants are available through community relations funding from Negaunee’s wholesale energy source, WPPI  Energy.

Applicants must be a non-profit, plan to use the funds to assist their organization, not an individual, and cannot have received this grant in the previous year. Each grant will receive a maximum of $1,500.00. The Negaunee Treasurer explains who this program is for.

Looking for non-profits in the Negaunee area to help them with their mission statement or anything they could be doing, whether it’s an event or a building improvement, or some equipment or appliance they may need,” said Downing.

In total, over 35,000 dollars have been given out through this program since its inception in 2006.
