RIVERLAND, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Delta County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash involving a pickup truck and an Amish horse and buggy over the weekend.
At 3:28 p.m. on April 12, deputies were dispatched to an accident in the Riverland area on 18th Road near H.25 Road. The investigation revealed that both the truck and the buggy were traveling eastbound on 18th Road when the truck struck the buggy.
There were four female passengers in the buggy, all of whom sustained injuries. As of April 13, one has been treated and released from the hospital. The other three remain hospitalized, with two in critical condition and one in stable. The male pickup driver was not injured.
According to the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, the crash remains under investigation. The Sheriff’s Office is receiving assistance from the Michigan State Police Accident Reconstructionist.
