MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – April 8 is National Library Workers Day. Library staff members throughout the country are being highlighted for the hard work that goes into all of the services they provide the public.
The Peter White Public Library has over 160,000 physical prints to offer. Just last year, 7,545 books, DVDs, magazines, and more were cataloged into the library’s system by only three workers. Amy Salminen has been a librarian for over 20 years, and says that the dedication in this field is outstanding.
“The librarians I work with, and the librarians that are outside of this building are very dedicated to the work that they do,” said Salminen. “I’m just so proud of our staff, that we are able to do this every single day that we’re open.”
