IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ) – Iron Mountain officials are investigating the cause of a residential fire on Sunday.
Just before noon on March 30, the Iron Mountain Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire on East A Street. Crews arrived in under four minutes and found heavy smoke coming from the north side of the residence.
In a coordinated effort, fire crews pulled multiple hose lines and established a water supply. After forcing entry into the structure, they performed aggressive fire suppression efforts and quickly extinguished the blaze. Firefighters performed a thorough search of all levels of the building to ensure no further fire conditions existed.
No emergency personnel or civilian injuries were reported during the fire. The cause remains under investigation, and anyone with questions or information is asked to call Deputy Director Chad Hedmack at (906) 774-0622.
