MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Friends of Peter White Library are having their semi-annual used book and media sale in the community room of Peter White Public Library. The Friends’ book sales help support library programs and book collections.
The Library’s Development Director Heather Steltenpohl said the funding The Friends provide has a major impact on what the library can offer,”The friends of the library raise about $60,000 a year and that money comes back to the library to support the book collection, we buy a lot of books with friends money,” said Steltenpohl. “Almost all of our summer reading program is sponsored by friends of the library, the friends are invaluable to our community.”
The sale continues Saturday with a half-off sale from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and a $5 bag sale from 1:45 p.m. to 4 p.m.
