ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Delta County Airport could soon have a new manager.
After just over one year at the helm, former manager Robert Ranstadler announced his resignation in December. He officially stepped down in February.
On Tuesday, the Delta County Board of Commissioners voted to extend a job offer to candidate Katelyn Biermann. Originally from Escanaba, Biermann would relocate to the area from Alaska. According to County Commissioner Kelli Van Ginhoven, Biermann has roughly two decades of aviation industry experience.
The Hiring Committee has recommended a starting salary for the position of $75,000. The Airport Advisory Board hopes to have the next manager in place as soon as possible.
