LANSING, Mich. (WZMQ) – Hundreds gathered on the Capitol lawn Wednesday afternoon. Crowd members gave speeches to share the impacts already being felt in Michigan from the Trump administration’s crackdown on deportations and the federal funding freeze.
The 50 Protests, 50 States, 1 Day movement was organized to reject the Project 2025 agenda. The rally brought out lawmakers and nonprofit workers who encouraged the crowd.
The city of Marquette also saw protesting downtown today. On the corner of Washington and Third Street, protesters gathered in front of the post office, chanting and holding signs to express their disapproval. The protest lasted a few hours, with around 30 supporters in attendance.
