ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – A nonprofit is inviting kids ages 4 to 12 to put on their finest royal garments for a special event in Escanaba.

On February 15, Youth Empowering Services (Y.E.S.) will host a Prince and Princess Experience at Haley Station Wedding and Event Venue. Attendees can dress as their favorite prince or princess to enjoy craft stations, pampering, snacks, and a storytime corner. They will also get to meet some familiar royal characters.

“We wanted to try an event for kids this winter, especially because our organization serves youth,” said Y.E.S. Executive Director Tiffany Hewitt. “Exposure, awareness, support, and collaboration continue to be vital to our community. We look forward to spending an enjoyable day while efforts will benefit our program and projects.”

Youth Empowering Services connects students in Delta and Menominee Counties with adult mentors. Currently, 412 students are part of the program. The funds raised by the Prince and Princess Experience will help Y.E.S. reach even more students in 2025.

“Our program works directly with local schools and community partners,” Hewitt said. “The efforts increase the overall well-being of our community.”

“They are so beneficial to the kids in our community that need some guidance,” said Debi Haley, Owner of Haley Station. “I really respect how they run the program, and so it was a great opportunity to be able to provide a space for them to do something that will give the kids an opportunity to have a full experience just for them.”

Princess attire is available for those who want to attend and need an outfit. The Prince and Princess Experience will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are limited and cost $35 for one child, with a discounted price for a second child.
