DELTA COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – A second Delta County man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop, just hours after the previous incident. It marks the fifth person to be arrested on felony drug offenses in Delta County in the past week.
On Jan. 8 around 9:50 p.m., Michigan State Police troopers observed a vehicle traveling on S. Lincoln Rd. in Escanaba and noticed a vehicle violation and pulled the driver over. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the passenger, 33-year-old Brian Johnson of Rock, for outstanding warrants for his arrest.
During the booking process at the Delta County Jail, it was discovered Johnson had suspected methamphetamine concealed with him. Johnson was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine and bringing contraband into a jail, a felony.
Johnson was arraigned on Jan. 9 in the 94th District Court. His bond was set at $1,500. He is due next in court on Jan. 30.
