MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – This time of year lots of people are ordering packages online.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office has some tips to keep your deliveries safe.
To prevent theft, they recommend tracking your packages on your phone or computer so you know when they will arrive.
Also if you are worried your package might be stolen, consider mailing to a secure location like a neighbors house or your workplace to retrieve later.
“My neighbors keep an eye out for my house, I keep an eye out for their house, if you see strange vehicles when there’s a package on the front,” said Marquette County Sheriff Greg Zyburt. “Let them know if you’re expecting an expensive package or something. Work with your neighbors.”
If a package does get stolen, having door cameras can also help police identify the thief.
