BARAGA COUNTY, Mich. – Three people are under arrest and facing assault charges after an incident at a motel in eastern Baraga County.

On Nov. 17, Michigan State Police Calumet Post responded to the Bear Paw Inn in Three Lakes around 12:30 a.m. for three people that had allegedly assaulted two others. A firearm was also allegedly discharged several times during the incident, but no one was hit by gunfire.

MSP says two men and one woman were arrested and are lodged in the Baraga County Jail. All three were arraigned in 97th District Court on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

Austin Conn, 18, of Ishpeming, is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. His bond was set at $1,000 cash.

Jeremy Vetter, 24, of Michigamme, is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and resisting/obstructing a police officer. His bond was set at $5,000 cash.

Alexis Hernandez, 21, of Michigamme, is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and assault/battery. She was given a $10,000 personal recognizance bond.

All three are due back in court on Dec. 3.
