MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ)—The annual Holiday show started by the Marquette Arts and Culture Society 24 years ago and now hosted by the Marquette Regional History Center was held this Saturday. This one-day sale is held at the opening of deer season to kick off the holiday season and give recognition and attention to local artists.

This sale has a juried selection process, which is why 30 artists have been able to come back every year, and there’s always something new and interesting. They have all types of mediums on sale, from jewelry to painting, ceramics, photography, and even stained glass.

“I love to see the artwork coming in, every year the artists have something new to contribute” shared Jessica Bays, Marquette Regional History Center Store/Rental Manager.

On the second floor is where the bake sale and freshly decorated wreath are held, and as Marquette’s regional history center manager shared the smell is amazing! “It’s really fun when we’re setting up and all the wreaths get in, you get this cedar-smelling aroma”, said Jessica Bays, Marquette Regional History Center store/rental manager.

For information on next year’s Holiday Sale, either how to participate or volunteer check out the Marquette Regional History Center website.
