MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Marquette has a new playground that will cater to kids of all ages and abilities.
Kids Cove at Mattson Lower Harbor Park opened its gates Friday, allowing the public to see this new all-inclusive playground for the first time.
It’s taken years of planning and extensive community involvement.
The playground is built with advanced safety features, inclusive playground equipment, and a soft surface that’s fun to walk on.
Heidi Czerkes finally has a playground where her son can thrive.
“What do you think of the new park?
“I love it. Love it. I have a kiddo with Down Syndrome and he’s one out of six. I have six kids in total. And we have yet to find a park where all my kids can play together at the same time,” Said Czerkes.
The city plans a ribbon-cutting ceremony during its grand opening sometime in October.
