IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ) – Residents of Dickinson County and surrounding areas will have the opportunity to tap into their creativity next Friday, September 20th, as the Dickinson Conservation District hosts its second annual Pyrography Workshop. The event, set to take place at the Cowboy Lake Park Pavilion in Kingsford from 1 – 3 PM CST, returns by popular demand following last year’s successful turnout.

Joshua Isaac, the District Forester for Dickinson and Menominee, will lead the wood burning workshop, providing all necessary materials, including pyrography pens and wood, with refreshments provided. “We’re excited to see what people come up with,” said Isaac, recalling some of the impressive pieces created during last year’s event, such as personalized camp signs.

The workshop, which attracted participants from neighboring counties in its first year, promises to be a fun and engaging event for ages 12 & up. Minors should have a parent or guardian present. Attendees can also enjoy snacks and beverages while working on their designs.

Isaac emphasized that the district looks forward to hosting another creative gathering, adding, “It’s always exciting to see how creative people can be.”

The Dickinson Conservation District hasn’t yet announced its next event. Keep tuning in to WZMQ 19 News for updates about future events from the DCD, or contact the Dickinson Conservation District at:
