LAURIUM, Mich. (WZMQ) – A historic bed and breakfast in the Copper Country is now one of the top-ranked bed-and-breakfasts in the country, according to a recent contest by Newsweek.
Newsweek.com ranked the Laurium Manor Inn #3 in its prestigious Best Historical B&B contest. Ludington’s Cartier Mansion ranked #1.
Visit Keweenaw, in a news release, called it a significant achievement for Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula. The travel organization says the Laurium Manor Inn, a mining-era gem with a distinctive white tile porch and exotic elephant hide walls, stands out among some of the most esteemed historical inns in the U.S.
The Inn at Houmas House in Darrow, Louisiana ranked #2, with the Kane Manor Inn in Kane, Pennsylvania and the Bourbon Manor Bed & Breakfast in Bardstown, Kentucky ranking #4 and #5 respectively.
