MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – El Santo Tacos and Tequila opened Saturday at 113 West Baraga Ave.
The restaurant features both indoor and patio dining, and a wide selection of of Mexican dishes with a focus on tacos.
Ramon Ayala the general manager said it’s been a lot of hard work, but the community has been very supportive.
They’re excited to bring a taste of Mexican culture and atmosphere to the Upper Peninsula.
“We based it on Mexico and the small magic towns that we have down there,” said Ayala. “Places like that have these decorations and we brought it up here so people can have a taste of what’s Mexico and feel safe and feel good in here with the atmosphere, and we’re happy to bring this culture up here to the UP.”
El Santo is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11a.m. to 9p.m. on Saturday.
