ROCK, Mich. (WZMQ) – UPDATE: According to Delta County Emergency Management, the drive of the semi was taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital and treated for minor injuries. The crash occurred just before 4 a.m. Tuesday morning, but the cause is still unclear. A small amount of diesel leaked from the truck, but it does not pose a threat to the nearby environment. Another truck was able to come offload the rest of the diesel and the fuel that leaked will be cleaned up at a later date.
ORIGINAL: The condition of a semi truck driver is unknown after they suffered a roll-over crash on M-35.
Hauling diesel, the truck ended up on the side of the road Tuesday morning in between Rock and Perkins. Authorities closed off the road to traffic before beginning the cleanup, and the road was reopened just before 4 p.m. They are unable to confirm if any diesel had spilled from the truck.
The Michigan State Police Gladstone Post is still investigating what caused the crash.
