MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Washington Avenue in Downtown Marquette was packed for its first Wednesday night farmers market of the year.
The market brought in dozens of vendors and even more people. It’s giving businesses both already downtown and those in the street the opportunity to get some extra customers.
For Case Country Farms, they’re bringing the customers in with some freshly grilled burgers. “Without the Marquette Market, the people in Marquette that actually come out and visit our farmstands and buy from us farmers, there’s absolutely no way we could do this,” said Trevor Case, owner. “The people in Marquette are the backbone of this farmers market whether it’s Saturday or Wednesday nights.”
The Wednesday night farmers market runs from 5 to 8 p.m. until August 28. On Saturdays it runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
