MARQUETTE, Mich, (WZMQ) – Today the Upper Peninsula Health Plan (UPHP) held its 6th annual Marquette County Community Resource Fair at the Superior Dome.
Over 90 health and welfare organizations from all over the UP met with those in attendance to showcase their services, covering everything from food insecurity, to mental health, to childcare services.
UPHP CEO Melissa Holmquist said they want to make sure people are getting all the help they need.
“We know that those things that impact a person’s health don’t stop at the doctor’s office or at the pharmacy,” said Holmquist. “We’re really focused on helping individuals learn about what services are available to help them with their everyday basic needs.”
This year the UPHP also brought back its community lunch for the fair, and saw a visit from Feeding America of West Michigan.
