SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich, (WZMQ) – The Michigan State Police (MSP) arrested 20-year-old Marquis Anthonie Harmon of Sault Ste. Marie for child sexually abusive activity and extortion.
The MSP Computer Crimes Unit, and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force led an investigation into Harmon when they learned he was viewing child sexually abusive material on the internet.
The MSP also found digital evidence during a search of Harmon’s house.
Harmon was arraigned in the 91st district court on May 30 and charged with one count of child sexually abusive activity and one count of extortion, each carrying a sentence of up to 20 years.
Harmon will have a probable cause conference on June 10 at 9 a.m. and a preliminary hearing on June 17 at 10:30 a.m.
