NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Negaunee Public library annual Summer Reading Program began June 3 and children ages 3 and up can sign up to participate in the program and will receive a free book and coloring kit of their choice.
Not only is the program for kids, but adults are encouraged to sign up as well.
Last year they had a record number of sign ups, and this year they are hoping to top that number of participants.
“Last year really stepped up our initiative with a couple grants,” said Jessica Holman, director of the Negaunee Public Library. “We had over 170 kids participate ages 3-17, and 170 adults enter into our raffle.”
Children who complete their reading log and meet their reading goal will receive a prize, while adults enter into a raffle to win prize packs that include gift cards to Super 1 Foods, Iron Bar Pasties and Tino’s bar and pizza.
Registration begins June 3 in person or online here.
